Getting To Know The Lodge & Garden

PLEASE NOTE Greenacre Lodge is a NO smoking property.

GROUND FLOOR
BOOTILITY
Entering the lodge, we’ve created an area essential for country living, the ‘Bootility’ room. A combination of boot room for muddy wellies, and utility room equipped with washer/drier and sink, it’s a great place to contain the mess and leave the outdoor behind before entering the Lodge’s other rooms.
DOWNSTAIRS W/C
Not much to say about this one, it does what it says on the tin. Very handy for that essential ‘last wee’ before heading out. Equipped with Faith In Nature hand soap and hand lotion, fluffy towel and lots of toilet paper.
LIVING ROOM
Multiple windows and large French doors let in lots of natural light. Comfy sofas, rugs and throws will have you feeling at home in no time. We’ve also provided a books & games chest, as well as a Smart TV with access to Sky and all your favourite streaming services. This room also has an Alexa and we supply a fan in Summer.
KITCHEN
The kitchen comes equipped with a range oven and induction hob. We’ve supplied large quantities of indoor and outdoor crockery, glassware and cutlery. You’ll also find lots of useful gadgets, utensils, serving dishes and everything in between. Our large fridge/freezer has plenty of space for food and drinks and there’s lots of cupboard space too. Also, for overseas guests, Suffolk has some of the cleanest water in the UK, so it’s safe to drink from the tap. There will be milk in the fridge and ice in the freezer for your arrival.
DINING AREA
Located in the open plan living area, our dining table seats six people comfortably. We have also provided placemats, coasters and a table cloth. A child’s highchair is also available, simply request when booking.
UPSTAIRS
PLEASE NOTE we provide a baby safety gate and additional window safety locks, but it is your responsibility to check it is appropriate for your purpose. By staying at the lodge, and using the baby gates and window safety locks, you do so entirely at your own risk and with no liability to the owners of Greenacre Lodge. For the avoidance of doubt, babies, young children and the stair-impaired should never be left unattended at any time. Instructional videos on how to use both can be found at the bottom of this page.

OUTSIDE & GARDEN
FULLY ENCLOSED GARDEN
The Lodge’s garden is completely separate from the main house, meaning you’ll enjoy privacy during your stay. Please ensure you keep the gates closed at all times to keep out rabbits, muntjac deer and foxes, who like to nibble our plants and dig up our grass. Please note the garden for Greenacre House is not accessible to guests and gates are signposted.
GARDEN FACILITIES
We have provided a Char-Broil BBQ with gas and utensils, plus a variety of seating and dining furniture for you to enjoy. XL garden beanbags and jenga can be found in the shed located in the Lodge rear garden. There is also a swing under the willow tree. Please take care when using the swing. You do so entirely at your own risk and with no liability to the owners of Greenacre Lodge.
HERB GARDEN
There is a small herb garden located within the box hedging at the front of the lodge, feel free to help yourselves. The large tree in the middle of the box hedging is a bay, so its leaves are great for stews, soups and more. We are in the process of creating a vegetable garden on the other side of the fence from the Lodge garden (beyond the gates marked ‘Private’). We ask that you please do not venture into this area and ensure the gates remain closed at all times to keep out unwanted nibblers such as rabbits, foxes and muntjac deer.
In season, there are signs showing what is ‘READY TO PICK‘, so please help yourself. Please do not pick anything without one of these signs, as they won’t be ready. If you do pick vegetables or flowers, please only harvest what you intend to use, as this is shared by the main house and is for all guests to enjoy.
PRIVATE PARKING & GARAGES
The Lodge is located at the end of the driveway shared with Greenacre House. On entering the drive, turn right past the house and continue down the drive. Greenacre Lodge will be in front of you and is signposted. There is ample parking, enough for six cars. Please note the garages are not accessible to guests, as these are used by the main house as storage. Please feel free to park in front of the garages, as these will not be accessed by us during your stay. There are two floodlights with outside switches for on/off, plus a light by the main front door. Please see the instructional video below for how to use.
Please feel free to borrow our guest bikes, these are located to the right of the garages, alongside helmets and padlocks. The padlock code for all bikes is written on the sign inside the bike shed, as well as on the welcome sign in the bootility room. The codes are the same for all bikes.
